⚖️ JUSTICE HAS ARRIVED: Nearly 14 years after the tragic 2012 Benghazi attack, the Department of Justice has announced the arrest and extradition of a “key participant,” Zubayar al-Bakoush.
Landing at Joint Base Andrews at 3 a.m. this morning, al-Bakoush is now in U.S. custody to face an eight-count indictment on charges including murder, terrorism, and arson.
Attorney General Pam Bondi explicitly referenced Hillary Clinton’s infamous 2013 testimony, stating, “It makes a difference to Donald Trump. It makes a difference to those families”.
Al-Bakoush is charged with the murder of Ambassador Chris Stevens and State Department employee Sean Smith, along with the attempted murder of a federal agent.
FBI Director Kash Patel credited a “foreign transfer of custody” and the work of interagency partners for bringing the suspect to American soil.
U.S. Attorney Jeanine Pirro, who is overseeing the prosecution, noted that while help famously “never came” for 13 hours during the attack, American justice has finally arrived today.
A Message to the World 🛡️⚖️
AG Bondi issued a stern warning that under the current Justice Department, those who commit crimes against Americans anywhere in the world will be found and prosecuted.
Officials read a statement from CIA Director John Ratcliffe honoring the sacrifices of Tyrone Woods and Glen Doherty, who were also killed in the 2012 assault.
Al-Bakoush is the third individual to face charges in the U.S. for the attack, following the previous convictions of Ahmed Abu Khattala and Mustafa al-Imam.

AG Pam Bondi: “I’m proud to announce that the FBI has arrested one of the key participants behind the Benghazi attack. Zubair Al-Bakush landed at Andrews Air Force Base at 3 a.m. this morning. He is in our custody. He was greeted by Director Patel and U.S. Attorney Jeanine Pirro.
Hillary Clinton famously once said about Benghazi, “What difference, at this point, does it make?” Well, it makes a difference to Donald Trump. It makes a difference to those families. And 14 years later, it makes a difference to law enforcement who made the difference in this case.
Thank you, President Trump, for supporting all of our agencies around the country and around the world.
Al-Bakush will now face American justice on American soil. We will prosecute this alleged terrorist to the fullest extent of the law. He’ll face charges related to murder, terrorism, arson, among others.
Let this case serve as a reminder: if you commit a crime against the American people, anywhere in this world, President Trump’s Justice Department will find you. It might not happen overnight, but it will happen. You can run, but you cannot hide.
We are immensely grateful to our partners, especially at…”
