Tomaszowi Hajcie za śmiertelne potrącenie 74-letniej Czesławy D. groziła kara od sześciu miesięcy do ośmiu lat pozbawienia wolności, a także możliwość utraty prawa jazdy i konieczność zapłacenia grzywny. Piłkarz odmówił wówczas składania wyjaśnień. Badania wykazały, że był trzeźwy. W jego sprawie zasądzono wyrok w wysokości dwóch lat pozbawienia wolności w zawieszeniu na cztery lata. Hajto został także obciążony karą 7 tys. zł grzywny i zakazem prowadzenia pojazdów przez rok.
