Meghan Markle’s new Netflix program has been savaged by a TV host on air as “bloody awful”, while a royal expert details why it is “crucial” the Sussexes’ incoming projects are a hit.

A Sky News host has taken aim at Meghan Markle’s new Netflix show, as a royal expert argues the success of the Sussexes’ latest venture with the streaming giant is “crucial” to keep their multimillion-dollar contract.

Meghan has reportedly wrapped up filming her unreleased Netflix project, which is part of a $100 million deal between the streaming service and the Sussexes to deliver two new programs.

Although the finer details of the former actress’ show have not been revealed, it is understood the lifestyle program will focus on cooking, gardening and entertaining.

Prince Harry has his own project in the works, which is expected to dive into the world of professional polo and his passion for the sport.

Sky News Australia host Rita Panahi claimed Meghan’s new Netflix venture “sounds bloody awful” as she discussed the project with a royal expert on Thursday night.

“It was like a poor man’s Keeping Up With The Kardashians. I had to watch that, I had to take one for the team, and I don’t want to do it ever again.”

Royal commentator Kinsey Schofield agreed, arguing it was integral the couple’s shows performed well following the ratings of their previous Netflix projects.

“This is crucial that this is a success… because as you know Harry and Meghan’s only commercial hit so far has been their Harry and Meghan docuseries which was basically was just, you know, hours and hours of them ripping into he British royal family,” she told Panah
