Prince Harry has resolved his High Court claim against News Group Newspapers over accusations of illegal data collection, according to his lawyer David Sherborne.
The Duke of Sussex had alleged he was targeted by journalists and private investigators working for the publisher of The Sun. A trial had been set to begin at the High Court in London on Tuesday, but the case remained unopened following three requests for adjournments and a Court of Appeal bid.
Sherborne has now released a statement, saying the parties have “reached an agreement.” He also revealed NGN has offered an apology to Harry and will pay “substantial damages.”
Lord Tom Watson was also taking legal action against the publisher, but also settled his claim. The settlement news comes after the Duke of Sussex failed to make an appearance in the UK on Tuesday.
