Though Taylor Swift has attended at least five Kansas City Chiefs games in a row, Travis Kelce reportedly won’t be able to return the favor at the Golden Globes — even though he’s also scheduled to be in Los Angeles.

At the Globes, which are airing live on 7 January, the 34-year-old pop star is nominated in a new category, cinematic and box office achievement, for her concert film, Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour. Though Swift has been nominated on four separate occasions for Best Original Song, this could mark her first Golden Globes win.

If you look at that date on your calendar, you’ll notice that 7 January is coming up this Sunday…the same day the Kansas City Chiefs are scheduled to play an away game against the Los Angeles Chargers at 1:25pm PT. While this physically places Kelce in Los Angeles at the same time as his girlfriend’s big night, a source tells Page Six that he won’t be able to walk the red carpet — which begins around 3pm— with her. As far as I know, Kelce hasn’t mastered the art of teleportation, so this makes complete sense.

However, it looks as though Kelce won’t even be able to join Swift at an after-party. According to the same source, the 34-year-old tight end will fly back to Kansas City with the rest of the team immediately following the game.
