Momentami Magda Linette grała dobry mecz. Ale tylko momentami. Dlatego przegrała z Clarą Tauson 4:6, 6:4, 1:6 w pierwszej rundzie Roland Garros. Aż trudno uwierzyć, że to już szósty z rzędu turniej wielkoszlemowy, z którego Polka odpada tak błyskawicznie. Czarna seria trwa już prawie dwa lata.
Mam wrażenie, że Agnieszka Radwańska zasłużyła, żeby zobaczyć lepsze mecze w moim wykonaniu i było mi wstyd, że musiała to oglądać – mówiła Magda Linette w rozmowie ze Sport.pl po tegorocznym Australian Open. Z pierwszego w tym roku turnieju wielkoszlemowego poznanianka odpadła w pierwszej rundzie. Tak samo było w US Open 2024, Wimbledonie 2024, Roland Garros 2024 i Australian Open 2024. I tak stało się również teraz, na Roland Garros 2025.
To jest – niestety – czarna seria. I pojawienie się Agnieszki Radwańskiej w teamie Magdy Linette pod koniec 2024 roku na razie nie pomaga tej serii zakończyć.
W styczniu 2023 roku Linette zachwyciła, docierając do półfinału Australian Open. Wtedy wierzyła, że za tym jej najlepszym występem wielkoszlemowym w karierze pójdą kolejne sukcesy. Tymczasem po AO 2023 Polka właśnie zagrała w dziewiątym turnieju najwyższej rangi i po raz siódmy odpadła już w pierwszej rundzie.
