W przeszłości była jedną z wybitniejszych przedstawicielek młodego pokolenia aktorskiego. Niestety, w życiu prywatnym dotknęło ją kilka tragedii. Choroba nowotworowa zabrała niemal wszystkie najbliższe jej osoby, męża i braci.
Smutna wieść o śmierci Jadwigi Jankowskiej-Cieślak obiegła media we wtorek 15 kwietnia. “Z ogromnym żalem i smutkiem informujemy, że odeszła Jadwiga Jankowska-Cieślak. Wielka, wybitna Aktorka i wspaniały Człowiek. Nasza współpraca była ogromnym zaszczytem. Wielki żal…” — napisano na profilu agencji Malawski. Informację o odejściu aktorki potwierdził PAP. Jankowskiej-Cieślak miała 74 lata.
