Koszmarny błąd i dramat Magdy Linette! 386. rakieta WTA z wielką sensacją
Zaledwie jeden mecz w WTA 1000 w Montrealu zagrała Magda Linette. Polska tenisistka po długim boju sensacyjnie poległa z 386. w rankingu Anastasiją Sevastovą 3:6, 6:4, 4:6. Poznanianka miała problemy zwłaszcza z serwisem, a ostatni punkt straciła przez podwójny błąd.
Środowy wieczór w Montrealu obfituje w polskie pojedynki. Najpierw do gry przystąpiła Magda Linette, potem w akcji zobaczymy Igę Świątek, a na koniec swoje spotkanie rozegra jeszcze Magdalena Fręch. Najstarsza z Polek w ostatnim okresie nie miała szczęścia w losowaniach i kilkukrotnie szybko odpadała z turniejów. W Kanadzie wreszcie była zdecydowaną faworytką, bo choć Anastasija Sevastova to była zawodniczka z czołówki, to obecnie w wieku 35 lat jest dopiero 386. w rankingu i w ostatnich latach miała wiele przerw.
Z drugiej strony Łotyszka zawsze uwielbiała grać na twardych kortach w Ameryce Północnej. W tej części sezonu osiągała bowiem swoje najlepsze wyniki. Podczas gdy w innych wielkoszlemowych turniejach nie przebrnęła dalej niż czwarta runda, to w US Open dwa razy była w ćwierćfinale i raz w półfinale. Już na początku starcia pokazała, że nie będzie łatwą przeciwniczką.
