Travis Kelce’s $5 Million Gift of Hope: NFL Star Funds Homeless Centers in His Hometown
Cleveland Heights, Ohio —
In an extraordinary act of generosity, NFL superstar Travis Kelce has pledged to donate his entire $5 million in recent endorsement and bonus earnings toward the creation of a network of homeless-support centers in his hometown of Cleveland Heights, Ohio.
The initiative, called “Heights of Hope,” will fund construction of 150 housing units and 300 shelter beds across multiple sites, offering safety, meals, job training, and mental-health services to those most in need.
The news sent ripples of admiration across both the sports world and the community where Kelce’s journey began.
From Friday-Night Lights to a Mission of Light
Before he became one of the NFL’s most recognizable names — a two-time Super Bowl champion, philanthropist, and half of America’s favorite power couple — Travis Kelce was simply a kid growing up on North Park Boulevard, playing pickup football with his brother Jason.
He’s never forgotten where he came from.
“Cleveland Heights raised me,” Kelce said in a prepared statement. “This city gave me my start, my toughness, and my heart. I want to give something back that lasts longer than football.”
The plan, developed in coordination with local housing officials, the Cleveland Heights Community Foundation, and Kelce’s nonprofit Eighty-Seven & Running, aims to break ground in spring 2026. Each facility will offer transitional housing, community kitchens, counseling, and youth mentorship spaces.
Kelce’s philanthropic streak is well-known. Through Eighty-Seven & Running, he has long funded education and sports programs for underserved kids in Kansas City and Northeast Ohio. Yet this project represents a dramatic expansion — and a deeply personal one.
“When you come from Cleveland Heights, you see both sides of the world,” he said. “You see love and struggle living next door to each other. If I can help even one family get back on their feet, that’s a victory bigger than any championship ring.”
