Coco Gauff is once again hitting some form to finish 2025 just as she did 12 months ago on the WTA Tour.
Gauff won the Wuhan Open after a two-set victory over Jessica Pegula, with the American coming back from a double break of serve to take the second set.
Gauff has been critiqued when it comes to aspects of her game, but here in Wuhan, there were no signs of struggle with anything, really.
Gauff showed amazing resilience against Laura Siegemund earlier in the tournament after double-faulting and losing her serve in the very first game of the match.

Gauff will be delighted to win this title, and ahead of her defending the WTA Finals trophy that she won so emphatically last year, it would appear that her momentum is building.
After beating Pegula in the final, Gauff took to social media to react to all the love and support she’s received across the tournament.
She posted on Instagram: “Title number 11 and third WTA 1000 trophy!!! And it tastes so sweet.”
Victoria Mboko posted four applause emojis, and as one of the game’s brightest young talents, Gauff would be a solid role model for the Canadian.
Gauff must take momentum into Australian Open
The 21-year-old is supremely talented, and there is probably a sense that she’s good enough to have won even more than she already has at this stage of her career.
Still, 2025 has been a solid year, with Gauff winning the French Open for the first time in her career earlier this year, and now it would appear she’s going to finish with aplomb again this year.
Gauff romped to glory at the WTA Finals last year, and the challenge will be for her to repeat that feat once again at the end of 2025.
Clearly, winning is something that Gauff simply loves to do and whilst others seem to be less focused during the Asian swing, Gauff comes alive on the court!
