Podczas uroczystości 130-lecia ruchu ludowego Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz ogłosił strategię “wielkich inwestycji narodowych”. — Potrzebujemy dla Polski strategii zwycięstwa, która składa się z trzech wartości – bezpieczeństwa, ambicji i idei — mówił polityk.
Wicepremier podkreślił, że same świadczenia pieniężne nie rozwiążą kryzysu demograficznego, z którym zmaga się kraj. — Najlepsze nawet pieniądze w programach socjalnych nie pomogą — mówił. Jego zdaniem konieczne jest większe docenienie pracy obywateli. — Docenienie pracy, ludzi ciężko pracujących, płacących podatki, to powinna być strategia dla nas, dla Polski, dla polskiego rządu numer jeden. Zachować wsparcie społeczne dla tych, którzy tego potrzebują, ale 800 plus tylko dla pracujących — dodał.
Program 500 plus wprowadzono w 2016 r., początkowo obejmował drugie i kolejne dziecko, a przy pierwszym stosowano kryterium dochodowe. W 2019 r. rozszerzono go na każde dziecko bez względu na dochód. Od 2024 r. świadczenie wzrosło do 800 zł na dziecko.
