Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s future and popularity depend on two things, an expert has claimed.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, who stepped back from their roles as senior working royals in 2020, have resided in Montecito, California for four years. The couple have removed themselves from England and royal life, with their popularity seemingly dwindling slightly since doing so.

This year, the couple have appeared to embark on a rebrand of sorts, with the Sussexes revamping their personal brand as they make public appearances and work on new projects. For example, the duo has attended several red carpet events, with Netflix projects hinted at.

Harry is said to be working on a Netflix show about polo, while Meghan is working on one about cooking, gardening and friendship. Not only this, but Meghan also soft-launched her new lifestyle brand, American Riviera Orchard.

Royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams has now spoken exclusively to The Mirror about how the Sussexes “have remarkably few A-listers who openly support them”, with them now relying on two key things to keep them where they are or improve their popularity.

“Nacho Figueras has been called the ‘David Beckham of polo’, is a friend of Harry’s, and will appear in Harry’s series on polo for Netflix. Yet this is an elitist sport and unlikely to draw a large number of viewers.
