Hoda Kotb Officially Announces Her Upcoming Wedding in 2025—And the Groom’s ‘Surprising Identity’!
During Wednesday morning’s broadcast of NBC’s “Today,” Kotb stunned her co-hosts and viewers when she shared the happy news live on air.
“I’ve got something very special to tell you all,” she said, beaming. “I’m getting married next summer—and I can’t keep it to myself any longer.”
While her colleagues erupted in applause, it was her next announcement that drew audible gasps: her fiancé is none other than Jeffrey Max, the Emmy-winning documentary filmmaker and environmental advocate known for his work with National Geographic and PBS.
Kotb and Max, both highly private individuals when it comes to their personal lives, had reportedly been quietly dating for over a year after meeting at a charity event in New York City.
“We bonded over a shared love of storytelling and our kids,” Kotb explained. “He’s a dad too, and our lives just blended in the most natural way.”
Fans will remember that Kotb was previously engaged to Joel Schiffman, with whom she shares two adopted daughters, Haley and Hope.
The pair called off their engagement in 2022 but remained on good terms.
