Ponadto Amerykanka okazała się triumfatorką zawodów, co poniekąd osładzało porażkę Polki.
Taki występ mógł napawać Igę i jej fanów optymizmem, jednak kolejne turnieje wzmagały uczucie niedosytu. Świątek za każdym razem docierała w nich minimum do ćwierćfinału, ale nie udało jej się wygrać żadnego.
