Niestety Kamil Majchrzak nie pojawi się na starcie tegorocznego turnieju w Rzymie. W pierwszym meczu kwalifikacyjnym Polak uległ Sebastianowi Ofnerowi 4:6, 4:6.
Kibice mieli nadzieję, że Hubert Hurkacz nie będzie jedynym polskim tenisistą, którego obejrzymy podczas turnieju w Rzymie. Szansę na dołączenie do niego miał Kamil Majchrzak, który najpierw musiał przebrnąć kwalifikacje.
W poniedziałek zmierzył się z Sebastianem Ofnerem. Na samym początku obaj tenisiści bardzo pewnie prezentowali się przy swoich serwisach. Niestety już w trzecim gemie Austriak wykorzystał trzeci break point i przełamał naszego reprezentanta. Przy kolejnych tego typu okazjach Polak zdołał się wybronić, ale za to nie potrafił doprowadzić do przełamania, wobec czego przegrał 4:6.
