– Nie planowałem takiego obrotu spraw, ale kiedy pojawiła się możliwość dołączenia do reprezentacji Polski, byłem bardzo zadowolony. To doświadczenie, które może mnie rozwinąć i nauczyć wielu rzeczy. Moja nowa rola dość dobrze łączy się z tym, co robię w Irun jako dyrektor sportowy. Od zawsze wiedziałem, że chcę pozostać przy piłce ręcznej. Kiedy w sobotę skończyłem karierę, w poniedziałek byłem już w klubowym biurze w nowej pracy. Mam uprawnienia trenerskie, ale nigdy wcześniej nie pełniłem podobnej roli, choć zawsze byłem otwarty na taką możliwość – przyznał Aguinagalde, cytowany w komunikacie ZPRP.
