Tegoroczny sylwester w TV Republika miał być medialnym fajerwerkiem, jednak dane oglądalności pokazują, że wydarzenie wyraźnie przegrało z konkurencją. Stacja znalazła się też w centrum krytyki widzów z powodu braku transmisji noworocznego orędzia prezydenta.

TV Republika w tym roku po raz pierwszy zorganizowała “Wystrzałowego Sylwestra”, który miał wzmocnić pozycję stacji na rynku i przyciągnąć nowych widzów. Wydarzenie było szeroko zapowiadane i promowane jako alternatywa wobec ofert największych nadawców.
Według danych telemetrycznych sylwestrową propozycję TV Republika oglądało średnio 1,15 mln widzów. Choć dla stacji był to zauważalny wynik, okazał się on wyraźnie słabszy od rezultatów osiągniętych przez konkurencję.

Dla porównania „Sylwestra z Dwójką” w TVP 2 śledziło średnio 2,6 mln osób, co dało temu wydarzeniu pozycję lidera wśród telewizyjnych ofert sylwestrowych. Z kolei „Sylwestrowa Moc Przebojów” Polsatu zgromadziła 2,32 mln widzów, również znacząco wyprzedzając TV Republikę.
Oglądalność nie była jednak jedynym problemem stacji. TV Republika spotkała się z falą krytyki ze strony widzów, którzy zauważyli brak transmisji noworocznego orędzia prezydenta Karola Nawrockiego. W mediach społecznościowych pojawiło się wiele oburzonych komentarzy.
„Orędzie prezydenta na innych kanałach, tylko nie na Republice”, „Gdzie jest orędzie prezydenta? Dlaczego nie nadaliście na żywo?” – można było przeczytać w komentarzach widzów.
