LOOK!! Radio Broadcaster Sends a Pointed Message About Taylor Swift’s Songwriting

Ken Bruce didn’t mince words with his bold opinion.

Thanks to her wildly popular Eras Tour, Taylor Swift reached a new level of fame over the past year. (Dating NFL star Travis Kelce hasn’t hurt things, either.) This also means more people have voiced their opinions about Swift as a person in addition to music critiques—and not all of them are kind.

Recently, Scottish Greatest Hits Radio presenter Ken Bruce weighed in with his thoughts about the pop superstar. And the 73-year-old broadcaster didn’t hold back with this pointed message.

“All her songs are the same,” Bruce told the Daily Mail on Sunday, June 30. “I’ll play her on my station when she writes something that isn’t about her ex-boyfriends.”

He added: “Great radio songs have three beats and then they’re straight into the song, not these long intros that she does.”

Fans on X, formerly Twitter, defended Swift against Bruce’s claim that she only writes about her exes.

One Swiftie pointed out, “There’s literally so many songs that don’t have a romantic theme at all and so many more that revolve around a fictional romance NOT a personal one e.g. cowboy like me, gold rush, right where you left me, cardigan etc.”

Another X user agreed, listing off even more of Swift’s songs that have nothing to do with a man: “I Did Something Bad, Who’s afraid of little old me, Florida, Clara Bow, Nothing New, mirrorball, seven, the lakes, marjorie, it’s time to go, closure, long story short, Anti-Hero, Vigilante Shit, Look what you made me do, The Man, Bad Blood, You’re on your own Kid, Karma, Mean….”

Meanwhile, another fan snarked, “Leave it to an old white man to be completely out of touch….. shocker,” while someone else commented, “‘i’ve never actually given her storytelling a chance but i’ll regurgitate the same misogyny she’s faced for 18 years.’”

Currently, Swift is finishing up the third (and final) show of her Dublin, Ireland, Eras Tour stop before performing three concerts in Amsterdam on July 4, 5 and 6.
