Grzegorz Braun stracił immunitet europosła. Decyzję podjęli we wtorek ok. godz. 12 deputowani na sesji Parlamentu Europejskiego w Strasburgu. Prokuratura chce postawić politykowi zarzuty w związku z popełnieniem siedmiu przestępstw w czasach, gdy był jeszcze posłem na Sejm RP.

Prokurator generalny Adam Bodnar już w październiku wysłał do przewodniczącej Parlamentu Europejskiego Roberty Metsoli wniosek o uchylenie immunitetu europosła Konfederacji Korony Polskiej. “Zgromadzono materiał dowodowy uzasadniający dostatecznie podejrzenie popełnienia przez Grzegorza Brauna 7 przestępstw” – informowała wówczas Prokuratura Krajowa. Zaznaczono, że zgodnie z prawem Braun “nie może być pociągnięty do odpowiedzialności karnej za przestępstwa objęte treścią wniosku bez zgody Parlamentu Europejskiego”. Niespełna dwa tygodnie temu za pozbawieniem polityka immunitetu opowiedziała się komisja prawna Parlamentu Europejskiego. We wtorek decyzję zatwierdzili europosłowie na sesji plenarnej.
