Ohio GOP Senator JD Vance called out and chastised Democrat Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear after he callously suggested that he wishes one of the GOP vice-presidential nominee’s female family members would be raped, resulting in an unwanted pregnancy, so Vance could understand the plight that some women face.

The vice-presidential candidate from the Republican Party condemned Beshear for his “disgusting” remark that he made after discussing “defending abortion rights” on the first night of the Democratic National Convention (DNC).

“Make him go through this,” Beshear said about Vance on MSNBC on Tuesday.

Vice President Kamala Harris is now being urged by Vance’s team to condemn the morbid remarks immediately, maintaining that “violent rhetoric” has no place in political discourse.

Many notable Democrats have been guilty of “violent rhetoric” in the last few years, especially after the attempted assassination of Donald Trump.

Representative Maxine Waters, Representative Ted Lieu, Senator Cory Booker, Representative Joaquin Castro, Senator Jon Tester, and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi have all made comments advocating for violence or confrontations against Republicans.

“Resign. Who wishes a woman gets raped? You are truly vile,” said one X user to Beshear on the social media platform.

However, the Democrat Kentucky governor responded to DailyMail’s request for a comment with a vague and deflective statement. Ironically, he labeled Vance’s response to his cruel suggestion as being deflective as well.

“It’s ridiculous. And more than that, it’s an attempt to deflect. Obviously, I don’t wish anybody harm, nor would I ever but what this is about is JD Vance trying to make himself the victim,” Beshear said at the Democratic National Convention (DNC) in Chicago.

“JD Vance, like myself, is a man who will never have to go through the things that we are talking about. All I wish is that he have enough empathy to put himself in somebody else’s position. But no, this is an attempt to create controversy. It’s ridiculous. Nobody means anybody any harm.”

Beshear was the featured speaker at the inaugural session of the Convention on Monday, discussing access to abortion. He began by telling three stories of pregnant women who, for a “variety of reasons,” felt that they had to terminate their pregnancies.

However, “according to a study from the pro-abortion-rights Guttmacher Institute, only about 1 percent of abortions are sought for reasons of rape, and less than 0.5 percent of abortions are sought for reasons of incest,” The Hill reported.

William Martin, Vance’s director of communications, also issued the following statement in reaction to Beshear’s remarks on MSNBC.

“After speaking on the DNC main stage last night, Harris campaign surrogate Governor Andy Beshear went on national television this morning and explicitly called for a member of Senator Vance’s family to be raped,” Martin said.

“His comments are disgusting, vile, and should not be tolerated in American politics,’ he continued. ‘We call on Kamala Harris to immediately repudiate Governor Beshear’s comments and demonstrate that regardless of partisan disagreements, this kind of violent rhetoric has no place in our public discourse,” he continued
