To nie tak miało być. Nie taki miał być koniec i nie teraz. Dominik miał dopiero 15 lat. Zginął jako harcerz, w dramatycznych okolicznościach. Miał zdobyć kolejną harcerską sprawność, a zamiast niej jest ból, rozpacz i niewyobrażalny dramat. 15-latek utonął. W niedzielę, 27 lipca, jego rodzinny Witoszów Dolny niedaleko Świdnicy utonął we łzach. Odbył się pogrzeb chłopca. Młody harcerz spoczął w grobie, na który już zawsze, każdego dnia spoglądając przez okno, będą patrzeć jego rodzice. Mogiła jest na skraju cmentarza, blisko domu Dominika.

Tragedia wydarzyła się w miejscowości Wilcze. Młodziutki harcerz miał przepłynąć nocą część jeziora i rozpalić ognisko na drugim brzegu. Do wody wszedł w mundurze i butach. Co przerażające opiekunowie asekurowali go z pomostu, a nie z łodzi. Chłopiec utonął. Ratownik WOPR i opiekun drużyny harcerskiej usłyszeli zarzuty w tej sprawie.
