Sportsbooks Left Exposed with Easy Connor McDavid Future Bet
The sports world stopped to admire the fabulous run of the Edmonton Oilers to the Stanley Cup Final this past season. It gave casual hockey fans or general sports fans a chance to witness the masterclass that Connor McDavid puts on every night.
He amazed fans with his dazzling passing plays and single-handed efforts that saw him cut through every defender like his highlight reel goal in game five of the Western Conference Finals versus Dallas.
He is an offensive threat whenever he steps on the ice and many know him for being a lethal goal scorer when he needs to be but mainly operating as a puck distributor. This makes the over/under for McDavid’s goals next season at 51.5 (-115 at DraftKings) quite baffling.
There is no doubt that this is possible for McDavid but just isn’t something we have seen too often as he’s scored more than 44 goals just once in nine seasons. This also seems more likely for McDavid’s linemate Zach Hyman, who was brought to the team to finish goals.
Hyman finished 54 goals last season and is slated to play once again with McDavid next season. If that isn’t enough to pull you away from the over, Leon Draisaitl played just under 294 minutes with McDavid and Hyman, according to Money Puck’s line analytics.
The trio were sensational and combined for 27 goals, averaging 5.52 goals per 60 minutes, which was best in the league for a line combination that played together for more than 200 minutes. Draisaitl seemingly won’t play with McDavid much next season however, as the Oilers went out and signed two forwards in Jeff Skinner and Viktor Arvidsson to round out their top six.
