The story behind Taylor Swift’s diamond ‘TNT’ bracelet: a collaboration between golfer Michelle Wie and football star Travis Kelce.
Michelle Wie West revealed Monday she designed the ‘TNT” bracelet worn by Taylor Swift while visiting boyfriend Travis Kelce after the Chiefs’ AFC Championship victory over the Baltimore Ravens.
Wie West met Kelce during the 8AM Invitational, the celebrity golf tournament hosted annually by Justin Timberlake in Las Vegas.
After meeting at last year’s tournament, Wie West messaged Kelce telling him she designed an ‘upscale friendship bracelet’ inspired by the gifts Swift’s fans give each other at her concerts.
Wie West said she would love to give one to Swift and she did not care what the ‘Anti-Hero’ singer did with it.
The five-time LPGA tournament winner did not hear much after giving Kelce the bracelet, and said she does not care for football too much. However, after the Chiefs defeated the Ravens on Jan. 28, she saw Swift wearing her jewelry on her left wrist.
‘After the game was done, I started screaming at my phone,’ Wie West said on ‘The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon. ‘I was like “Oh my God!” My husband is like “Oh my God, what’s wrong?”‘
‘And I was like “Taylor Swift is wearing my bracelet!” It was the craziest thing,’ Wie West continued.
The bracelet features diamonds all around as well as gold plates with the separate ‘TNT’ lettering on it.
The bracelet is valued at around $6,000.
Fallon then asked Wie West what ‘TNT’ stood for on her bracelet, with his guess being dynamite.
Wie West explained she thought it meant ‘Travis and Taylor’.
Wie West also revealed during her appearance with Fallon that she is expecting her second child with husband Jonnie West.
Wie West’s first child, Makenna Kamalei Yoona West, was born in June 2020.
