Jednocześnie na czele funduszu, który ma wspierać rozwój nowych technologii w wojsku, Kosiniak-Kamysz postawił zięcia prezydenta Dudy. W armii wrze po tych decyzjach.

We czwartek 17 lipca w Krakowie odbyła się wielka wojskowa pompa z fanfarami. Płk Piotr Bieniek, syn gen. Mieczysława Bieńka, doradcy ministra obrony, objął stanowisko dowódcy 6. Brygady Powietrznodesantowej. Na imprezie zjawili się wszyscy najważniejsi ludzie z ministerstwa obrony na czele z wicepremierem Władysławem Kosiniakiem-Kamyszem, lokalni politycy i śmietanka towarzyska Krakowa.
Minister nie miał czasu, aby przyjechać na uroczystość wyznaczenia dowódców innych brygad, ani nawet dywizji. Zawsze miał ważniejsze sprawy. Wybory, Sejm, partia. Teraz nagle jedzie do Krakowa, w dodatku z całym dworem. To jest kpina — mówi w rozmowie z Onetem oficer wojsk lądowych w stopniu generała, uczestnik misji wojskowych w Iraku i Afganistanie.
Ta nominacja przelała czarę goryczy. Wojskowi w rozmowach z Onetem przekonują, że skala nepotyzmu przy wyznaczaniu na stanowiska generalskie jest porównywalna do czasów PiS. Słyszymy częste opinie, że przygotowani do dowodzenia oficerowie są pomijani w awansach generalskich, a w górę idą ci, którzy mają koneksje.
