🚨 JUST IN: Police are on HIGH ALERT in Salt Lake City after intelligence warnings that the Venezuelan gang Tren de Aragua has ordered its members to open fire on police.
This comes straight from law enforcement briefings and reporting.
KSL reported:
[Reporter]: On the streets of Salt Lake City…
[Officer Tanner Jensen]: A lot of crime when it comes to gang-on-gang violence.
[Reporter]: Police say one gang quietly has been rising up the ranks…
[Officer Tanner Jensen]: TDA, Tren de Aragua gang.
[Reporter]: Tren de Aragua…
[Reporter]: They have terrorized multiple South American countries.
[Reporter]: A prison gang, known throughout Latin America for extortion, drugs and human trafficking, kidnappings, and killings, has now been linked by investigators to crimes closer to home.
[Officer Tanner Jensen]: And that’s when we really started to realize that we did have a presence here in Utah.
[Reporter]: Utah Department of Public Safety Chief of Investigations Tanner Jensen says while the Sureños, Crips, and Bloods claim far more members in Utah, and the Sinaloa Cartel continues to rule the drug trade throughout most of the Rocky Mountain region, Tren de Aragua is looking for its cut.
[Officer Tanner Jensen]: Trying to build an identity here in Utah and build out their network.
[Reporter]: Jensen says though, that’s easier said than done, with the Venezuelan gang very much on law enforcement radar since 2024. Back then, the National Sheriffs’ Association even stated TDA had given its members the green light to fire on police officers.
